Michal Grombiřík graduated in cimbalom from the Janáček Conservatory and Grammar School in Ostrava, and in jazz performance and music management from the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno.

He regularly collaborates with symphony orchestras, chamber orchestras and ensembles in the Czech Republic and abroad. He also devotes himself to his own original projects, composition, a variety of concert and recording collaborations, and premieres of new works. His musical activities focus primarily on contemporary music, jazz and free improvisation.

He is also involved in organisational work under the auspices of the Czech Cimbalom Association and teaches at a basic art school (ZUŠ) and at Kohútek, an alternative school for adults, where he coaches jazz ensembles.
